Curbside Pickup

Library Made Easy!

Curbside pick-up service is usually reserved for grocery stores and restaurants, but library patrons in Zeeland can now get their books and movies without leaving their car. Howard Miller Public Library was the first public library to launch curbside pick-up service in West Michigan and the second public library in the state to provide this convenient method of accessing all the library has to offer.

This service is great for parents with kids, people running errands, or people with mobility challenges! Using curbside is simple:

  1. Patrons can go online or call the library to place holds on the items they wish to enjoy.
  2. Once the items have arrived at the library and are available for pick-up, a notice will be sent to the patron.
  3. To pick-up curbside, patrons simply need to park in the designated space along the library's Church Street entrance and call us at 616-772-0874.
Have your library card ready! You will need to tell us your library card number over the phone.
  4. Staff will check the items out to you.
  5. Staff will deliver the materials either to the window nearest the curb or your trunk, whichever you prefer.

**We cannot accept returns via curbside**

Please place all returns in the drop box on the west side of the library building.

The person requesting the pick-up must be the cardholder.  An exception is made for parents who are the co-signer on a minor's library account.  If someone other than the cardholder is picking up items, they will need to come inside to check the items out on our self-checkouts.  This will require them to know the cardholder's library card number and PIN number.

This service is limited to books and AV materials. All other materials can be checked out at the Circulation Desk.

Book Club Kits are not holdable and cannot be picked up curbside.  We recommend that you visit the Book Club Kits page for more information
