The Amalfi Curse by Sarah Penner is a dual-timeline story set in Positano, Italy where nautical archaeologist, Haven Ambrose, investigates shipwrecks and searches for her late father's hidden treasure. Simultaneously, the narrative flashes back to 1821, where sea witch Mari DeLuca uses magic to protect the town and faces danger from a shipping magnate.
The novel explores themes of ancient sorcery, forbidden love, and the power of the sea, as Haven uncovers a centuries-old curse and must confront it to save the town.
